Gordon doesn't exactly fit the desciption of being a badass by a chance now does he?
And it doesn't really make any sense why a scientist would be the leading figure in a war against aliens.
I think it would be better for him to be replaced with someone new. Someone the audience can connect with.
Gordon is really lame. Valve needs to fresh up the protagonist experience a lot.
