You now get a full page with the main settings. (No more tabs above.) The licenses also now have a wider page so no more squeezing.
however...
the Purchase History is an absolute joke. it's sickening. it only loads a few days worth of data (and now you can see what you gifted and to whom, which whilst okay, clutters things badly - that should be a separate option or one with a "load me first" click) yes, there is a "LOAD MORE TRANSACTIONS" button at the bottom of the page, but it only loads a few more each time. basically a single "page". OMFG.. i am used to seeing the entire history in one long stream. you should still have that option. we badly need a "LOAD ALL TRANSACTIONS" button. (or a 20/50/100 per page thing at least) doing it manually is atrocious. you can't even search (as of now) so if you want to see when you got a specific game from years ago, you're going to do a lot of clicking. INSANITY!!
apart from the full length pages, this change is nasty and unwelcome.
so the http://ift.tt/1LRzFhf is great. full length. improved - donham approves.
the http://ift.tt/1LRzFhk though is outrageous. first, they merged the store and game transaction tabs. it's a sick joke. confusing and ugly. and again, the worst thing, you can only see a single page with about 20-30 entries. want to see the date and price you paid for a specific game? the older the more games/transactions you have, the more you have to click. and click you will. this is not acceptable. if you have an old account and have to go back to 2003 or 2004, God forbid. this is beyond a joke. and those ugly "Stored in gift inventory" things at the bottom of a purchase where you got gifts? ugly as hell. no, valve does not have or does UI testing, and if they do it's with legally blind monkeys. someone needs to burn in hell for this. to load even a couple of years worth of data, you will need to click -painfully-, hundreds of times. yes, now i get it. those stupid "clicker" "games" (just like the last sale event) are the new in-vogue things. (well, for losers anyway) they actually made a clicker game out of your account page. how amazing.
oh Lord, have mercy and keep me sane. the two tabs should NOT (and never) be merged. store and game purchases should be separate - just like they used to be. OH LORD!!
those "Stored in gift inventory" entries need to disappear. splitting the two purchase options like they were, will solve this the best way. but even if they won't re-split, knowing stubborn valve, those entries are useless. when you purchase a gift that transaction is always only a gift transaction. it can not be combined with an account purchase. so there can never be any confusion about if a game was purchased as a gift or not. also, the transaction is shown as a gift in the third (Type) column, so that itself shows that those games (or single game) is/was purchased as a gift. as it stands, if you -for example- buy 5 games as gift, you get a flood of;
Stored in gift inventory
Stored in gift inventory
Stored in gift inventory
Stored in gift inventory
Stored in gift inventory
under that purchase entry. it looks horrendous and that info is actually superfluous. the third column, called TYPE (as in type of purchase) shows it/them as; Gift Purchase.
THE PURCHASE HISTORY PAGE NEEDS TO BE SPLIT INTO TWO SEPARATE PAGES LIKE IT USED TO BE; STORE & GAME PURCHASES. BUT AT THE VERY LEAST, THERE NEEDS TO BE A LOAD ALL TRANSACTIONS OPTION ON THE NOW COMBINED PURCHASE HISTORY PAGE - IF THEY WON'T RE-SPLIT IT.
oh no!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
i just realized, upon being sent that message by a user who keeps me abreast of things, that the new Purchase History page also combined the two other -used to be separate- purchase pages. namely; MARKET AND "IN" GAME TRANSACTIONS.
oh wow... all in one big mess..
so if you bought in game crap, or purchased cards or anything on the market, or store games or ANYTHING, it's all now in a single confusing garbage list that shows one page at a time... so yes, even if they add a LIST ALL option, it will still be a huge mess. all four - previously separate pages- in ONE single mess... what a brilliant idea. valve, as usual, at it's best...
i now have to start laughing whilst rocking back and forth and frothing at the mouth.
New look Steam account page.
