Specs: Windows 7, 64-bit.
This problem arose 2 days ago roughly: Whenever I launch CS:GO my PC crashes, flashes a bluescreen and restarts. I played the game 5 days ago, and it ran smoothly without any issues. I can also play other games (WoW, Hearthstone, DotA2 etc.) and use the computer in every other way, without encountering issues. Now this might be a simple software issue, or a (pricy) hardware issue, however, I've attempted multiple different solutions, and they all point in different directions. I have currently no clue whether it is a software or hardware issue.
But it gets even weirder:
I contacted steam support and I was able to momentarily solve the problem by refreshing my steam files (type steam://flushconfig into Run). The game launched and ran smoothly for roughly 7-8 hours. The next day when I come home from work and launch CS:GO, BAM! Same problem, only this time refreshing does not work.
Some "solutions" which I have attempted:
- Verifying the integrity of game files
- Deleting and reinstalling both Steam and CS:GO
- Refreshing steam files (type steam://flushconfig into Run)
- Disabling Steam overlay while ingame/ disabling Steam Cloud Synchronization
- Updating drivers for motherboard (with Windows Update and a 3rd party program, I have an Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3).
If there is indeed something wrong with my motherboard, the ram or maybe the drivers, should this not have some kind of impact on all the other stuff that my PC can do?
