Not even just in pubs, black box seems common in competitive. I'm surprised no one on SPUF is talking about it because everytime I play on a pub there's just hordes of conch box sollys.
I mean I guess I can see some of the advantages of the conch over the backup:
But the black box? I've never seen the appeal. Worse if you have a medic, if you're bombing a medic. The two items together just seems overkill, but time and time again I see the pair. Stock soldier is becoming a rarity.
Why does every soldier use black box and/or conch?
I mean I guess I can see some of the advantages of the conch over the backup:
- charges with 480 damage instead of 600
- father rocket jumps instead of shorter
- active effect instead of passive. Don't worry about wasting it cause at least you'll get a speed boost
- More health is generally less useful thanks health regeneration unless you're being pocketed. More health means more fall damage taken
