I've run into a bit of trouble with Steam. Yesterday, my computer crashed while I had Steam and a few other programs open. Not sure if this is part of the reason, but I thought I'd mention this just in case it's related.
Now, I hadn't tried opening Steam since then until tonight. It would do its usual thing, checking for updates, bringing up the login window, then would show "Connecting to Steam Account: (insert name here)". However, instead of then bringing up the Steam client, it would just...Stop. Nothing would come up after the connect window closed. :confused: Because of this, I can't tell if it would connect or not. No errors would show up, no other windows, nada.
After a few tries to log in again, with the same results, I went through the forums here to try to find some solutions. I've tried the ClientRegistry thing, reinstalling, compatibility mode, run as admin, even simply restarting my computer. And still the same result.
I'm currently running a Windows 7 computer if that says anything and my antivirus is AVG. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D
