When matchmaking hits, what features can ensure the most ideal level of fairness?
What I mean by 'most ideal' is simple enough, to just ensure that both teams are on the most even footing reasonable.
Let's presume all the big stuff is handled in post: no random crits, no spread, and we have reasonable maps that don't favor either side.
I'm thinking matchmaking would be more strictly divided between regions, to ensure ping disparity is consistently minimal.
I'm thinking it'll have specialized item servers that will allow a choice between any possible unlocks, so newer players aren't barred or penalized just for not having any given unlock.
And I'm thinking time limits will be reasonable, so those players without tons of free time can still hope to have a satisfying game without worrying about it dragging on and eating too much time.
Things like class limits and weapon bans are important for the most enjoyability in competitive, but I'm most concerned about measures to make sure nobody is unfairly excluded and that any two teams have fair enough odds against eachother.
