I was thinking about replacing me laptop HDD with a 7200 RPM one and a SSD, the weird part is once I started to think about it now I'm getting these like.. blips / pauses / micro second freezing when doing stuff.
I can click the desktop and hold and be dragging the blue box around and once in awhile it will freeze, but it's really fast.
I notice it mainly on videos, like the people will studder but its so fast, sometimes they will go mute for a second... it's hard to explain.. it's like a cd skipping but the skipping is SO quick it's like a buzzing sound for just a second. i only notice this on the videos and mouse dragging.
I updated my flash player, k-lite codec I use, i only have 37 running processes like usual, I've changed nothing... virus wise, I never get them... but I highly doubt that a virus would give me this 1 issue.
The thing is it's not all the time, right now it's good... so it's coming and going it seems?? but at times it will do it a lot and it makes videos unbearable to watch.
But what's the best method to test my HDD to see if it's getting ready to give out? Defraggler says it's in good health. AIDA64 says it's at 32C, so its not over heating... I heard something about SMART, how do I check this? This what I need?
What's going on..
