16:9 vs 4:3

I don't know if the title is appropriate, but yeah, I wanna try play with 4:3, but everytime I do that, my fps drops so low, having 16:9 my normal FPS is 250-300, but when I try 4:3 using 1280x960,changing everything on nvidia control panel too, I get 60-75 fps, for I don't know what reason... GTX 970, intel core i5- 4690 @3.50ghz if u know any tweak to do to change this, let me know, thanks =;) :mad: :mad:
