Hey, this has be occurring the past week or more, I can not access any cards or other things kept in the normal steam inventory. I can however see all my other inventories, TF, Portal 2, CSGO, Unturned, yadda yadda yadda.

Why is this?

I was on vacation, and it is possible that I clicked on the wrong link from phisher but... i see the person with which I made about 4-5 exchanges within two weeks got a trade ban. Is it possible to get a ban for the exchange community with a thief? Maybe the person stealing accounts and expensive items sold me?

I do not know any reason why I would steal, because I have a lot of games, a lot of keys to cs: go and 11 000 trades in my account.

What i did?
12 days ago I wrote a ticket to Steam Support. Unfortunately, I continue waiting for any answer :(

Well, everyone know my account was hijacked and I recover last week. I make everything to stay secure, format pc, reset router, clean notebook, change all passwords and e-mail of my steam.

So, I receive this account forgotten on my new e-mail, check and delete it. Probably from the guy who stolen me. It's sad I can't change my username.

And, I hope one or more valve employee look this forum again. I don't know If this guy will try to send a fake ticket, claiming my account, so, just wanted to make a warning here, If any support look, I'll be glad.

Just bought Witcher 2, love RPG's and wanted to play witcher 2 for bit before moving on to witcher 3.

Been doing some research and saw some cool build concepts. One that I really liked was some kind of Critical Effect build with sword and alchemy.

I am going to playthrough on Hard first time, then maybe try Dark as I usually play any game on the hardest difficulty first. But this game looks challenging and fun on hard.

Your game is unplayable due to the filthy infestation of aim bots, built in wall hacks, scripts, cheats, hacks, and bad life choices.

I want my $20 back in cash, not steam store credit, for this piece of ♥♥♥♥ cheat fest people have the audacity to call a game.

You guys make enough money of the sale of a game that has always been a free mod + your non stop transaction tax + the transactions from the store themselves.
You have the time and resources to do something about it, and you don't. Clearly you don't care, and neither do I.

Edit: Popular opinion is spy, so I'll bring some counterpoints:

In pubs, I've found spy to be more effective than heavy. Pubs are bad at finding cloaked spies but are actually decent at headshotting/focusing heavies.

In 6s spy can occasionally be better suited to making a pick than a sniper.
Pyro and heavy are only useful for defending last, while engi and sniper are also useful for this.

So, what's the least useful class now?

So... I've been trying to play a song from a game on my piano, as of right now I do have the basic melody down... but I've always had trouble working on the base of it (the left hand pretty much) as it can be hard to hear with all the other sounds going on on the original song...

Anyway... I thought "Why not looking for that song being played by synthesia on YouTube?" So I searched it... no results... so well... now I'm looking for a simple MIDI writing program so that I can just run it on synthesia.

Got my new set up up & running. CPU temps are down from between 50 to 70 cel to around 30.
NB temp is currently at 52 cel.
I do have a 120mm Tuniq Tower fan pulling in from the side panel along with one pulling in from the front. with one rear exhaust & one top exhaust.

Internal temp is 40cel.

These seem ok or is there something else I should do?

We balloon fight now.

With one balloon, pyro weighs half as much. He falls at half speed, takes half damage from falls, and jumps higher, but takes more knockback.

With two balloons, pyro is neutrally buoyant. He acts as if under zero gravity, all vertical movement will eventually slow to a stop. So too will horizontal speed in the air.

With three or four balloons, pyro will naturally rise, faster with four than three, until he hits a ceiling or skybox.

While under neutral bouyancy or higher, pyro can use his flamethrower as propulsion. M1 will slowly push him opposite to where he points, while airblast can act more like a shove.

Enemies can pop the balloons one at a time by shooting them.

I don't know if the title is appropriate, but yeah, I wanna try play with 4:3, but everytime I do that, my fps drops so low, having 16:9 my normal FPS is 250-300, but when I try 4:3 using 1280x960,changing everything on nvidia control panel too, I get 60-75 fps, for I don't know what reason... So, anyone who has taken part in the Gun Mettle campaign likely knows the annoyance of dealing with people on Valve servers. They're infested with the rudest, most obnoxious individuals you can ever find, most of them are so insecure about themselves that they throw the most childish insults in a desperate bid to make themselves feel better, and you'll be lucky if an aimbotter doesn't pop into your server and ruin everything.

Votekicking people never works because it requires the people on the team in question to actually give two craps about it, or even know how it works in the first place. And trying to meet anyone half-decent is probably the last thing you should expect.

Yet Valve requires contracts to be done on Valve servers for whatever reason, forcing everyone to put up with the filth. One can argue that it's to prevent people from making farming servers, but people can already cheat the system by finding an empty server with a friend, or one with two or three sensible individuals and complete their contracts easily.

So, why can't we just make Gun Mettle contracts able to be completed on community servers as well, as long as they're on the Gun Mettle maps? At least that way people can actually enjoy themselves with friends instead of having to babysit the scum of the internet on Valve servers.

Is there any way we can convince Valve to make this a thing during the final month of the campaign?

I'm not a CS:GO player, so I might be way off base here, but wouldn't it be nice if these Gun Mettle skins actually behaved like...skins?

Instead of having to decide if you're going to trade in your existing weps that you've lovingly named, described and attached all manners of parts and killstreaks onto for one of these godawful-looking things, what if you could just take the skin you like and apply it to an already- existing wep?

Valve could still make the strange/unusual versions hard to get and make loads of money, etc.

As it stands, the hassle of spending $100 for a strange version, hunting down all the parts etc. to make it like your old one just doesn't seem worth it IMO.

Disaster has struck. When I go into Editor/Build, my Gizmo does not appear. I cannot "select" anything either already in place, or from the menus. The only thing that has occurred is the following. Whilst doing some admin in my assets folders, my cat jumped on my keyboard which was on my knee. Before I could do anything, my bin files were "associated" with Notepad [In file-->properties you can select an application to open files; usually bin files do not have them]. I tried to "un-associate" but that does not seem possible. When I went into RW, the problem of no Gizmo surfaced. Nothing I did could bring it back. I have had a look in the Railworks folder, and the only file amended around the time was "WrapperSettings.xml"
Anyone got any ideas?

Seriously why is this not a thing?

The amount of F2Ps fresh off the install and coming into random pub games to sandbag good players, therefore making the rounds feel much more frustrating and a chore to play through instead of a fun experience when people don't feel like taking the game to the super serious competitive level.

I genuinely believe if there were at least some kind of ingame tip system similar to the coaching mechanics that suggests a team is really lacking in firepower classes therefore do not choose Sniper and Spy, and even ask them again if they're sure about their choice in Playing Sniper or Spy/if they decide to ignore the first piece of advice, highly suggesting that ignoring this advice is likely to contribute to losing the round.

Obviously Valve's system checks for certain conditions within live games in order to grant achievements, such as ubering a millisecond before a player gets killed by a critical projectile.

So why can't the same system detect conditions such as Engineer buildings being placed next to existing buildings, and display an alert to a player if they're under a certain amount of hours, never having the warning displayed before?

After taking 4 kills in a pistol round, my game froze at the beginning of the next round and I was disconnected after 25 seconds. After it dropped I couldn't reconnect initially but after a few seconds, I could use a web browser and then it would reconnect.

I have never had internet problems before and I am sure there was a correlation with my scoreline and someone on the other team. Later in the game, the top scorer on our team was repeatedly suffering with random jerking and net issues.

There was a player in the game who was unranked for competitive and ingame rank 5, who was making very dodgy shots through smoke etc. I am sure he was hacking but wasn't aware of this kind of hack before.

Anyone else come across it?

If the sniper hits the toolbox it is destroyed. Teles and dispensers are simply lost - sentries explode with the force of a pair of stickies - killing the engie but possibly harming and killing nearby teammates. Make way, heavy load coming through.

I don't think it would change balance that much, but it would be a fun change. The reason it doesn't change anything is a hauling engie already ranks right below an uber ready medic on the priority targets list anyway, and as a 125 hp class the engie is too squishy to survive a body shot.

Basically, it seems that valve have made the tomislav even more unfocused than it was before. Let's look at its three upsides:

Faster spin up speed (Well, kinda...)
What it says: "If you use this gun, you can afford to be less paranoid and respond quicker to threats and run in close before spinning up"

Silent spin up (Apart from at the start of revving)
What it says: "Hide around corners and drop in from above, they'll never hear it coming!"

Tighter spread
What it says: "Use me at longer distances, where the spread outperforms the lower fire rate"

Notice how none of these upsides complements any of the others? These would be better used on different or new miniguns but instead we get this... mess. Why not have tighter spread on the brass beast to compensate the poor mobility? Why not have Longer spin up and higher damage on a weapon that is silent for ambushes? Arrrgh

I've searched high and low on the interwebz for this weapon.

It was a pistol with a scope for the sharpshooter class.It had little ammo but was very powerful per-shot.It also took one shot a time(shoot reload a bullet then shoot again).I'm also looking for a desert eagle with a scope as that was more popular on servers.

If anyone knows a website with these weapons please tell me.. I apologize for not giving better details...

OK, so bear with me. I'm actually confused on this one.

Anyways, what is the best demoman loadout for pubs? I hear a lot of people saying different things, mostly centered around using a nade launcher with a shield (usually Loch or Loose Cannon with Targe or Tide Turner), but then I hear people saying the stickybomb launcher is a valuable asset and that the shields are crutches. Then there are the people who say that sticky demo with the bootlegger is best. And then there's the demoknights.

Seems like nobody can agree on what's the best loadout for this class. So, can you guys list the best (in your opinion) primary/secondary/melee, and explain why? It would be great help to me.

Today, I installed a crosshair switched but didn't like it and deleted it almost immediately. I had to use the console to reset the viewmodels and crosshair, but I've noticed that the 'Reset Default' option for binds doesn't do anything.

Is there any way I could fix that using the console or some other method?

So, Steam wasn't letting me buy a game. It said "An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed.". I tried buying it about 7 times but it kept saying that. I tried again in a couple of days but nothing and then it started saying something about my bank account putting a hold on my funds. So I connect to another network and boom, I bought it (with another card).

However now, I checked my balance and it dropped from ~£70 to less than £10. I hadn't bought anything substantial since I last checked it. I think I bought this many times according to Steam and the money went through many times. This total bs and if someone could help me find a way to get my money back that would be awesome.

I don't have an online bank account (it's an under 16's account) and it is a debit card (can't spend more than I have).

Hey there guys, hope everyone is doing well. Today I come to you guys asking for help. The past couple months I have been noticing something when I'm gaming on my pc.

I have windows 8.1 pro, i7 4790k w/ cm212 evo cooler, 8 gb corsair vengeance 1600 ddr3, evga gtx 770 2gb, asrock z97 fatal1ty professional, corsair 700w psu.

Recently I've been playing and these grid-like lines have been appearing in the background/dark spots of the picture in game. I first noticed it in dark souls, they were horizontal transparent lines that only seemed to appear during motion. They're not screen tearing lines because I know what tearing looks like, the image isn't being torn at all.

It's like this grid/lines stay on the picture when everything is moving. The image stays fully intact with no tearing, but these nearly transparent lines definitely appear. In dark souls, they were horizontal lines, now in the witcher 3, they're like grid lines. Like graphing paper in the background of my picture almost. I'm using a 59 inch Samsung plasma for my monitor and have been for years. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is currently an odd issue where I am unable to equip any coin that I have gained for example 5 Year coin, Bloodhound Gold coin. Currently in my loadout slot its "empty". When I rightclick the empty spot there is 1 selection - "unequip". When I press this it does nothing. When I go to select one of my coins just above the empty slots I right click on a coin and I have 3 options. Of The three options there is "unequip". Has anyone seen this issue?

I can buy any game on Steam except for Mass Effect.

I wanted to buy Mass Effect and another game yesterday, but it kept giving me an unexpected error message. I removed Mass Effect and I could buy the other game.

I have tried PayPal, Visa and using another account to send the game as a gift. Nothing seems to be working, it just won't let me buy it.

Does anyone know what could cause this? There is definitely enough money in the account and no problems with the credit card.
I have contacted Steam Support but they usually take weeks to respond, I would prefer to get it fixed quicker.

This is pretty much a itsurblog rant, so feel free to disregard the thread if you don't feel like ♥♥♥♥ting on the map or are a fan of 30+ minute stalemates that settle down in spammy fights over one cramped interior area and don't go anywhere from there.

I've come to realize over the last few weeks that there's nothing more frustrating than always ending up on a team that manages to take middle initially, then fails to actually have a sensible class composition to take the enemy's last, doesn't put up any forward teles, and eventually gets pushed back by an enemy team with actual Medic combos and Engies that build teles. We end up getting walled into our own base (cause pushing back through those 2 chokepoint exits with a crapton of bad Spies and Snipers when the other team has teleports, level 3 nests, and a bunch of combos on the other side of the tunnel is pretty much impossible on a Valve server) and eventually losing after a 30+ minute brutal, spammy slog where you just know from looking at the scoreboard and the class setup that defeat is inevitable.

I can't count the number of times I've worked my ♥♥♥ off to get our team to take middle at first, and then just watch my teammates try and assualt the enemy's base with 5+ Snipers and Spies and 2-3 Engies building sentries in our own base and no forward teles. And agonizingly see how the tides begin to turn and the few of us on heavier classes have to deal with the other team's combos and multiplying experienced players joining the server and level 3 nests outside our base with teleports bringing reinforcements in quickly.

The map's design also sucks balls, specifically the god damn Launch Pad room where the entire map narrows into one spam-filled, chokepoint area. Two narrow, predictable entrances that the other team can easily keep an eye on, no flanks, have to smash through with just spam and Uber (that's if you have a Medic at all, which isn't a given) unless you get a lucky backcap on last. I don't mind stalemates that occur due to teams being evenly matched, but when you know it's entirely due to a map's design, and when the clearly better team with better class choices that can easily wall the other into their own base still needs 20 minutes of a spammy slog to finally break through, you know it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you like dynamic, back-and-forth maps even a little.

I've always tried being the better man and not switching to winning teams on purpose. But these 30+ minute, agonizingly-watch-as-your-team's-doomed-to fail Powerhouse frustrations jarate me off to no end. I'll teamstack on the map without a ounce of regret from now on.

TL,DR: those of you that like the map (I know there's plenty just reading through varios TF2 forums), explain to me in an argumented way what's so great about enduring through hour-long spammy, braindead slaughterfests where one team can't break out of its own base while the other can't really succesfully push for last due to short respawn times for defenders? I assume it's the same kind of ''oh but it's great mindless fun, I don't have to worry about flanks or surprises, just spam down the two entrances that are the only option for the other team'' appeal that Dustbowl has.

♥♥♥♥ that, the map's a terribly frustrating stalematey mess whether you're on a team of 8+ support classes with no Medics, or in a game where both teams have a ♥♥♥♥ton of Sentries, explosive classes and Heavies (in that case, it just gets bogged down in the Launch Pad room).

The map so desperately needs a third entrance/exit into each base, maybe from the side tunnel at mid.

I'm sure a lot of people find this annoying as hell, so why are we forced to have that ♥♥♥♥ty link filter? I like to use link shorteners, because sometimes I don't want to give out a 200 character long link (hi google images). I can understand why they're being blocked though but some entries on the link blacklist are not even thought through. It started to annoy the living hell out of me when I found out links to allegro, a Polish ebay-like site are being blocked, while ebay itself is going through all and nicely.

Steam is awesome and all, but please stop acting like our mommas.

Honestly, spamsapping is ♥♥♥♥ing cancer.
While I'll admit that engies playspeed buffs are very welcome, the fact remains that a lone Engineer fending off a spamsapping Spy with a Rescue Ranger needs uncanny aim if they want to kill the spy and save the sentry, and it's just horrible playing against Demomen without that weapon if you don't have explosive classes or Scout assisting you in defence.
I can't remember the last time a spy has done a sapstab on me, let alone a stabsap; even back when I used to main Engineer, it still only happened several times.
What ends up happening most of the time is that Spy saps my everything and hangs around for another round of sappers, and then gets anally annihilated while I remove the sappers and repair the smidgen of damage they did.
However, I've been trying out new Engineer playstyles now that the Jag can be used like the Gunslinger if I'm careful, and I find that although a mobile Engie is really fun most of the time, people switch to Spy to counter me, and there's not much that I can do solo if a Spy is keeping my sentry sapped and a more battle-ready class is moving in for the kill.
So I'd really love it if Spy's sapper was made less spammable, in favour of more cunning or skillful techniques.

But I'm not saying Spy is OP, I find that he's underpowered if anything, and that's just based on my experiences fighting him since I never use the class; so a direct nerf would be unfair.
Perhaps he could get some sort of Meet the Spy style sapper sliding in exchange? I always thought Spy's lethality should lie in quality rather than quantity.

Also, that change for making the wrangler shield block healing was totally uncalled for; it's already awful that any Soldier can easily and consistently destroy a level 3 sentry in 2 hits with that recent bugfix for how explosive damage was calculated, but preventing Engie from buying himself time with wrangler is just lowering the skill ceiling and making him more helpless than he already is against 2 of his 3 hardcounter classes.
Honestly, it's an oversight by VALVe that while they probably nerfed explosive damage for moving targets with that bugfix, they buffed damage against stationary targets to the point that engie nests feel like houses of cards if I have rockets to fire at them, and while playing Engineer I sometimes have to fire Ranger shots pre-emptively because a soldier can often destroy a level 1 sentry in less than the time it takes for the shot to reach the sentry plus my admittedly slow 0.3 second reaction time.

Hey guys. I've been trying to figure this out for a week now and still stuck. Me and my friend decided to play borderlands together and my friend joined my game (he was level 16 and me 14). We then play through story and sidequests untill he was level l9 and I was 18.

When we decide to play again the next day he tries to join me and his character is still level 16 while my progress has been saved (level 18).

I understand that story progress and multiplayer is somewhat problematic, but shouldn't he retain his levels and items? Is this a common problem, and if so, is there some magic solution to this that I haven't come across yet?

The basic things like verifying game cache, reinstalling etc has been tried.

So lightning hit my house and blew the tube in our old CRT TV, so it won't display an image now, broke the lights on our fan or ruined the switch, don't know which yet. Fried our modem to where the power light just blinks and all other lights were off.

So we replaced the modem and my dads internet works but mine won't. When I plug any CAT 5 cable into my Ethernet port, it never lights up at all, like it used to, like it should. I tried taking my laptop out to my dads PC and unplugged his Ethernet cable and plugged into my laptop, no lights, no internet. It just won't recognize a cable being plugged in.

I've tried uninstalling the drivers and installing the new one, disabling the Local Area Connection 1 and 2 then re-enabling them through Network & Sharing Center. I've tried this through Device Manager also many times, doing reboots. I've taken the battery out and let it reset my clock and such.

The wireless works great, so the WLAN card didn't get affected. I'm using it now. But this port seems to just be.. DEAD.

I have this laptop and it seems, as I figured the port is directly connected into the motherboard so I guess I need to replace the motherboard to get the port working?

Either new motherboard or..is there some type of USB port thing I haven't heard of I can buy?

So instead of frying the laptop, it kills the Ethernet port..

Does anyone have any ideas?
What are my options?

Why so many betas?

I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad thing, but why is so much of Valve's work not finished? We have had Asteroid, Cactus Canyon, Mann Power, and now this new mode. None of these things are out of beta, and Mann Power is the newest one (aside from the PASS thing) at about eight months now (of course, most of these had a number of updates after launch and then went quiet up to now).

I understand the use of player input, but how much player input is actually being used, and what kind of changes are taking place in the betas we've had for over a year now?

I want the Spy to have the option of going without the balaclava...see, I'm a weirdo and I try to stretch my imagination and have a willful suspension of disbelief--but I can't see the point of wearing a fedora or a billycock if you've got a friggin' ski mask on. The spy likes style, obviously, so what's the point in looking like an idiot?
I just think it'd be nice to see the Spy without the mask so he could have the option to legitimately wear a hat without looking like a re-re.
PS Pyro kind of falls into the same category, however, the idiotic look suits him.

High ground is good position, but often is unreachable by simple walking or takes too much time. Even engineers build their stuff in such places, and smartest ones remove teleport entrance to prevent spies getting in.

Idea is simple - reloading with knife or sapper out allows to use cloak energy to fly for limited time. While it allows to get into position, or even (sometimes) perform dropstab in the open area, you take risk of being spotted without enough cloak to escape.

Cloak devices have some effect on this ability. For example, with Dead Ringer you need fully charged cloak to activate jetpack, with Cloak & Dagger you can hover forever, but lose energy faster while moving. Obviously, no using weapons like this.

If used while disguised, disguise gets specific effect on feet, which looks convincing for Soldier or Demoman disguise.

I'm a little bit confused with UAC right now. I've never really had problems with UAC that much, other than occasionally approving when running steam (I run it elevated). Today I reallized that my PC running W10 Tech Preview initiates a prompt for every single game I try to play. Of course this can be remedied by elevating steam (which I have done) but then of course any desktop shortcuts still cause prompts - which is annoying when you plan to use rainmeter to launch most your important games and apps...

Moreover my PC running W10 Home Premium has no UAC issues (Tested with several games present on both computers) with regards to steam. Doesn't even need to have any elevation whatsoever and it will not complain. I was wondering if anyone with some experience regarding similar problems could shed some light on the matter.

Worst comes to worst I'll just disable UAC. It's a pretty useless feature for anyone who knows PCs as well as any other extension of their body... Plus it has the added benefit of breaking the MS Store and a few other MS bloatwares :D

Personally I always hated the inception and concept of the airblast, anything that would hamper the motion of the player other than knockback, should've been treated as anathema by the devs, if the airblast was like an incinerator that incinerated projectiles like the short circuit so he could get closer and still burn people would've been cool
but the idea of him blowing around people and reflecting attacks was ridiculous to me but that's what controlled the paradigm of his gameplay and everyone went along with it so the Pyro's gameplay was boring and uninspired. He should've been about coming up with creative ways of lighting people on fire
So as of now the Phlog is the only weapon that actually allows you to be a pyro without encouraging you as projectile mirror man, and I find that refreshing.

Now for the change to the Phlogistonator

dropping 10% damage penalty

While Mmmph is activated

Drop the mmmph to minicrit damage

Have the Phlog energy incinerate all projectiles, basically operating like a Short Circuit

Increase speed 15%

Not sure if this will fix things but I think it will for a more thinking man's pyro, that does not want to be leafblower projectile mirror force trap card man

For new weapon Pyro should get

Jar of Gas

It replaces the pyro secondary
Splash it on any surface or player and it will stay soaked in gas for 20 seconds, when lit that area or enemies player will burn for 10 seconds from the time of being lit.
It can be lit by any flame creating weapon and can be lit by player that are already on fire
friendly player coated with it , would out enemy fires and coats them in protection for the period of time

So Lydia and I finish up a quest in a cave, leave said cave and head for the great outdoors. As we're entering combat, but before any enemies are near, I hear Lydia give a pained moan, then I went into battle. Afterward, no Lydia, even after fast-travelling. So I go back to that cave, and there she was, dead. I loot her and move on.

Besides being very strange, which I know is a constant in Skyrim, I wonder if this will glitch things later on? I haven't tried to get another companion yet, and have read that others had issues recruiting new companions due to things like this.

Anyone else have this happen?

Today I booted up Xfire and for a split second wondered why it wouldn't connect, and then I remembered that it shut down two months ago.

What I don't understand is why it was so sudden, why we barely had enough time to get our screenshots, and that even after that, we couldn't get our profile stats without a bit of hackery that I discovered far too late.

Xfire was still an amazing program and the fact that it could log game hours for not just games on Steam, but any game, was incredible. What I don't want to see is this code die. Forks of Xfire would at least allow us to keep logging our Solitaire hours ;)

If anyone wants Xfire released as open source, I would suggest signing this petition:

Before anyone ask, "Why would you hack on casual?" a hacker straight up said why.

He said, "I hack on casual because Overwatch can't get me. So basically I can hack longer." As he hits jumping AK headshots, wallbangs, shots through smoke and flashes.

Now all I see is hackers running crazy in casual to just ♥♥♥♥ on peoples moods. How do I know they're hacking? Hardly any medals, low rank (the number rank), and less than 50 hours and they're shooting through smoke, hitting jumping AK shots, prefiring.. It's awful. So VALVe..what are you gonna do about this? Or do you just care about Comp only and not give a rats ♥♥♥ about the other modes?

about 2 years ago ive bought a new gpu and new graphics card for it, hoping itll give me more fps but that failed.. whats the problem, what other parts do i have to change?
